The future of our kids is so much at risk, it is important to hear their voices.  I know that the older kids are already talking about this on FaceBook and MySpace.  For those that are younger, it is important to talk with them about this flood gate so that they understand what is happening with this project  Get them involved.

This page here is designed for them to voice their opinions and share their ideas.  If you have something in their words to post, please email me and I will publish them (using no last names, first names and ages only).  Or if you have artwork I can post a scan of the original here.

SUBJ: 8 yr olds concern

My son, Lance, is 8 years old and I showed him the flood wall on Engineers Road. Then I drove towards my home in Jesuit Bend, stopping on side the road where they want to put the WALL DIVIDING PLAQUEMINES PARISH. He had so many questions and was very puzzled about the whole thing. His biggest worry was that our home is going to flood when a hurricane comes. He just kept asking if our house was going to flood over and over again. We lived in Port Sulphur and he lost everything he had as well as my whole family. I don’t want him to live through that again. Can you believe an 8 year old asked to move? He doesn’t want to live behind a flood wall/levee. I don’t want to put my three kids through losing everything they owned a second time. Our parish should stay the way it is for our children’s future and their children and generations to come. PLEASE

NO WALL NO WAY
PLEASE !!!!!!!!!
